 For me , as a young 14 year old boy, the quote means be good and listen and it is a test you will be able to fail or pass. you can pass by listening and seeing if you actually did what someone told you to do. you can fail by not listening, breaking the rules, or be disobedient and bad.  For example, you can be told by your mom or your dad to take out the trash, now that is the test. To pass that test, you will need to be obedient and listen to your mom or dad or whoever told you to do that task. to fail the test your mom or dad says the same thing but this time you ignored them and started playing video games or text some of your friends . It will be best to complete and pass the test of obedience because good things happen to good people.
