I think what was statement means is that he wasn't focusing on winning, he just wanted to choose the right all the time so that lead to winning. His intention was never to win just doing what was right for everyone. He was a good person that lead a basketball team to nation champions and won. He was close to his players as a person and was a father figure to them also.
