“When a deep injury is done us, we never recover until we forgive.” - Alan Paton

Forgive

Alan Paton explains that we never recover until we forgive. This means forgiveness is the only way you will recover from the injury that a person caused. For example, if a friend were to do something bad and hurt you by using words the only way to recover from that is from forgiveness. You might even say “I’m never going to forgive them for that,” and that’s okay you may need time to think about the situation but in order to forget about it you need to forgive them first. Alan Paton taught us that forgiveness is the key to heal. When you forgive you forget and that's the only way you’ll heal. Forgiveness takes time and so does healing.
